Dixie D’Amelio, LaQuan Smith, Reed Krakoff, and Others Celebrate at FGI’s ‘Night of Stars’

In the world of fashion, where polished runway shows and high-profile designers dominate the scene, the reality of the industry often requires a blend of resilience and dedication. This message resonated at the Fashion Group International’s “Night of Stars” gala, held at The Plaza Hotel on Tuesday night, which also marked a significant 40th anniversary—a milestone amidst New York City’s vibrant fall social calendar.

As honorary chairs, Zac Posen and Coco Rocha welcomed guests with reflections on their enduring friendship and careers. Posen humorously recalled becoming an FGI “Rising Star” award winner in “1800,” while Rocha showcased a gown made from iconic Gap denim jackets, highlighting her innovative spirit.

Posen, who recently stepped into the role of executive vice president and creative director at Gap Inc., directed attention to the honorees, stating, “Tonight we are here to celebrate you. You have elevated our craft to new heights. You are the true stars tonight, and we applaud your remarkable contributions.”
