Pamela Anderson is on a transformative journey, discovering her true self and feeling more empowered than ever. Known for her iconic style since she burst onto the scene at just 22, Anderson has often embodied the ultimate blonde bombshell, celebrated for her pin-up looks and rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic. But as we chat in her hotel suite in Copenhagen, it’s evident that she’s entering a new era—one that feels refreshingly authentic.
“I realized I was dressing for others—whether for husbands or how the world perceived me,” she reflects. “I felt trapped in that cycle and reached a point where I began to look back at my journey, reconsidering my choices and their motivations.”
In early 2023, Anderson released a memoir and a documentary, prompting deep self-reflection. “It became about peeling away all the noise to find myself,” she explains. “Clothing and makeup are forms of self-expression, and I wanted to be vulnerable. It felt like a bold move to strip everything back and ask myself, ‘What am I doing? I’m 57 years old; I need to stop trying to keep up.’”
Anderson made the decision to stop wearing makeup, stepping away from the persona everyone had known for nearly four decades. “It felt like jumping into the abyss—but it resonated with people,” she says. “I wasn’t expecting it, and I wasn’t doing it for anyone else, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive. People have told me, ‘I never liked you before, but I love you now.’”
The actress has inspired many by showcasing her imperfections and encouraging others to embrace their natural beauty. This renewed authenticity has reintroduced her to a new generation, leading to exciting opportunities, including becoming the global ambassador for Danish jewelry brand Pandora, which aligns with her values.
“It genuinely feels like a perfect fit,” she shares. “The sustainability aspect is crucial to me. I’ve always sought out cruelty-free brands and prioritize sustainable choices. Compassion is sexy, and choosing the more sustainable option is a radical move. I’ve been advocating for this for 30 years, even when it wasn’t popular.”
Anderson is particularly drawn to Pandora’s lab-grown diamonds. “You can’t tell the difference, so why not choose the sustainable option?” She appreciates that the brand is accessible, stating, “I’ve always felt a bit uneasy wearing super expensive jewelry—it just wasn’t me. I like that this is beautiful yet attainable.”
Just hours before attending a celebratory dinner for Pandora during Copenhagen Fashion Week, she turned the event into a family affair by bringing her sons, Brandon and Dylan. She wore a slinky white top and matching trousers, with a slicked-back ponytail and a touch of red lipstick—minimal yet elegant.
“I do my own hair and makeup (when I wear any at all),” she explained. “It’s the most freeing experience. For real-life events, I want to keep it simple—just pull my hair back and add a bit of makeup. The whole glam team thing isn’t my style anymore; I’ve spent so much time in a makeup chair and missed out on life.”
For Anderson, wearing minimal makeup and toning down her fashion choices is a significant statement about authenticity in a world often obsessed with perfection. “I want to encourage young people to embrace who they are and just be themselves. It might sound cliché, but these truths resonate for a reason—be who you want to be. That’s what I’m finally doing now.”
